The machine in reference

The volumes an implementer keeps open: every tuple the machine knows, the knots that accumulate, the binds that gather, judge and publish, the membrane through which the machine reaches the world — and the volume that defines what a machine must do.

Volumes 04–07 are reference: consult them by construct. Volume 08 is the contract of the whole: assembly, the settle algorithm, machine classes and terminal states.
