What a first-time reader asks here
Why four questions — and why do I ask them rather than the machine?
Because the questions are the study. The programme fixes the four lines — facts, areas, relations, form — and leaves the asking to you: what you ask decides what will be looked for, and the record keeps your wording beside every answer. A machine that asked its own questions would be answering them for its own reasons.
What is the return socket?
The place where an answer will arrive. The card was built with an empty slot that accepts one kind of record — the accepted findings of a reading made for this question. You will fill it three steps from now, by accepting a result.
